He was found not guilty on all but one count, and that conviction has been thrown out on appeal, though without prejudice. So he remains in prison while the County decides what they want to do, almost having served his original sentence, not having been found guilty of anything.

Th County had the girl in protective custody just before the trial, were told that she was a flight risk (she had stated that if she got the chance she would run away), yet they freed her just before the trial. As she said she would, she ran away, making it impossible to put her on the stand, and let the jury assess her plausibility.

Kylie has written an apologetic letter to Sadler. He had been featured on the Maurie Pauvich show, his face being shown with a label over it “Monsters.” In her letter, Kylie specifically said, “I know you must think I am a monster,” a reference to that show she was a guest on along with her mother.

While Sadler was initially in jail awaiting trial, his 17-year-old daughter attempted suicide over this case. His son has grown from being a 3-year-old to being a 10 year old, all while Sadler languishes in prison.
